The LITiINTERP Group was founded in 1993, when young Belgian entrepreneurs came to Vilnius trying to start their own business. The very first problem they encountered was communication with officials who spoke mainly Lithuanian and Russian. Thus, they had to look for interpreters and that is how the company LITiNTERP – Lithuanian Interpreters was born.
Obviously, the only place where foreign travellers visiting Lithuania could stay was in old soviet, concrete tourist ghettos: INTURIST hotels. After short consideration, a decision was made to offer an alternative to tourists: accommodation in the homes of welcoming Lithuanian families to help the guests experience a real Lithuanian way of life and to provide them with the most comfortable and friendly conditions possible.
Later on, car rental services were offered to our guests so that they could see not only the capital city but also admire other beautiful destinations in Lithuania.
Thus, for over 17 years, LITiNTERP has been offering affordable bed and breakfast accommodation for travellers from all over the world in Lithuania’s major cities: Vilnius, Kaunas and Klaipėda,, as well as in Trakai and Neringa.
After a while of organising B&B accommodation with local families, the company acquired its first premises in Bernardinų Street in 1996. It was a small 36 m2 flat in the 18th C building, which accommodated "our" first two rooms. This was the beginning of the history of the LITiNTERP Guesthouse…
At present, LITiNTERP has a chain of three small guesthouses. All Guesthouses were granted a 2-star classification (the highest classification of guesthouses is 4 stars) by the State Tourism Department.
LITiNTERP personnel are always friendly and attentive. Our goal is more than just accommodation for our clients; we also try to provide our guests with all requested information about our city, its history, sightseeing places, and transport. Our efforts were noticed by a number of International Travel Guides (Lonely Planet, Petit Fute, etc.), who, when writing about Lithuania, mentioned LITiNTERP not only as a guesthouse but as an information centre as well.
We are proud of the Recommended by Lonely Planet certificate granted to our guesthouse in 1999. In 2008, the French travel guide LE PETIT FUTE granted a Recommended by Petit Fute certificate to the LITiNTERP Guesthouse in Vilnius.

UAB Kamava (Ltd.) started its operations in Klaipėda in 1994. From the beginning, the company provided translation, accommodation and car rental services in the city of Klaipėda. In 2004, having decided to reorganise LITiNTERP Group, the management of LITiNTERP guesthouses in Klaipėda, Vilnius and Kaunas was handed over to UAB Kamava (Ltd.). The company was registered in Vilnius.
Since 2008, the 2-star LITiNTERP guesthouses run by UAB Kamava (Ltd.) have been members of the Lithuanian Hotel and Restaurant Association. |
